Llangollen Railway

Wednesday 9th August 2013

We travelled back from our week at Great Nan’s today and Daddy Keating once again decided to take the scenic route through Wales as opposed to taking the dull motorways. This allowed us to stop a couple of times along the journey for a break and for daddy to drag us to Llangollen again.

This time there was a plan in place as we all got to travel on the Llangollen Railway.

This steam railway is on a wonderfully restored stretch of line that runs along the Dee Valley, and it is one of the most beautiful short journeys in the entire of the country. The fact that a whole day can be taken riding on the railway for the cost of one ticket is a bonus.

Next time we will travel on the canal boat across the aqueduct, or even stay locally and do both train and boat all weekend.
