Started off with fun as the bump has moved and is now pressing on Leigh’s bladder, so she will be glad that I shared her need to pee all the time with all of you out there.
We left early, which meant a tired wife, as we wanted to avoid the traffic and collect George (motorhome) early enough for us to do so. The weather in the morning was a little overcast, but enough sunny breaks to make the journey feel hopeful. Though it did cloud up a lot over Manchester, but there is nothing unusual about that, and it soon brightened up after we passed by.
As always I spent much of the journey plugged into my keyboard or the viewfinder of the camera, I seem to like taking pictures from a moving vehicle (I have no idea why, it is not to be arty, just a thing I do), the images often end up looking blurry or dull, but occasionally there is a usable picture – depends on how focussed I am on the settings/subject.
The rain did arrive about a miniute after we had finished pitching the Motorhome and Safari room. It came down hard and gave us a grey end to Saturday.
Sunday was less overcast and the rain, after a brief interlude in the morning, stayed away. Unfortunately it did make a brief appearance in the afternoon when we were trying to barbecue food.
We went into York via boat along the River Ouse and had a nicer day looking around the shops.
Monday we went to the designer outlet and the Mall. Giving Leigh and I the chance to spend more money on the as-yet-unborn-Flash-bump, this time we were buying bedding sets, furniture and curtains for the nursery from Mamas and Papas.

Last weekend we took a long break in London to celebrate nothing other than taking a long break in London. Well, this is not strictly true, what we were actually doing was using the space in a London Hotel, Flemings-Mayfair in Mayfair (strangely), that I had due to a business matter.
So we went to London and I was told we would have a good apartment, as it was we got the Penthouse Apartment in the building. It was very pretty. It had a fully fitted kitchen, private lift (that opened up into the hallway of the apartment), our own back door access that led onto a different street to the hotel and just looked like a residential address. Two bedrooms and three bathrooms – and a private patio. Pictures follow.

We’re off to a sci-fi convention this weekend with the wonderful Simsian Parental Units. I know is this a descent into further geekdom/nerdalia, is it in fact possible for that to happen to us since we are already fairly immersed, did we pay for it? Well, no, and yes.
Linda won some tickets to the event in a magazine competition so we have free entry, though the cost of travelling and accommodation isn’t included so hey ho. Half the cost is bourne by the fickle fingers of finance the other by fate.
I will be reporting some more on what happened/happens sooner or later but for now let me tell you there is a masked ball/costume event and yes I’m Batman (or should that be f…..).
