Whalley and Spring Wood

Sunday, 16th June 2013

Today we visited the town of Whalley which is situated just below Clitheroe in South-East Lancashire.

Whalley is a lovely gen of a market town with a yearly food and craft fair. We went to check out the fair which was small but had great stalls (we bought home baked pies and chutney).

Spring Wood

After walking around we thought we would take the kids for a longer walk and so bounced up the hill to Spring Wood which is a local woodland with varied paths. Because we didn’t have the rucksack with us we only went on the smaller route (short route) which was still a nice stroll through the forest.

I was sure that we heard Chiff Chaf’s in the forest and we did see squirrels, we also saw a catapillar hanging from a thread and spinning in the slight breeze. It seemed to have made the thread itself (not that unusual silk-worm anyone).

Once again a quiet drive home due to children needing to sleep.
