Rhymney and Family

Friday 2nd August 2013

Today was a slow day where we wouldn’t be traveling far and would spend time with extended Welsh family.

In the morning Daddy took a couple of short walks around Rhymney village. Firstly he carried Ben on a 3 mile tour up the hill past the village of Bute and the Ironworks memorial. Then he went for a stroll down into the village centre.

The afternoon saw the beach tent erected in the back yard so that the boys could play outside. Elliott played for hours putting stones into a watering can and then pouring them out.

A succession of visitors came to Mags’ house.

  • Firstly we had Leyla and Nicola who came in the mid afternoon and stayed most of the day.
  • Secondly there was Karen, Millie and Susan who dropped over when Karen had finished work.
  • Lastly Claire, Laura, Antony and Dafyyd (Laura’s new beau) arrived to visit.

They all overlapped each other and Ben and Elliott seemed less overwhelmed and more intrigued now they had other children with which to play.

They had so much fun that they didn’t want to sleep that night.
